Chulalongkorn University Intellectual Property Institute : CUIPI

      CUIPI was established by the Chulalongkorn University Council in 1995 as an arm of the CUIPI Foundation. Its main objective is to manage intellectual properties of Chulalongkorn University to correspond with the country's intellectual property policy.

Intellectual Property Services

      CUIPI provides the following services to university researchers and external research units:

• facilitating in the patenting procedures
• protecting intellectual properties of all kinds, including copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets
• assisting in patent searching, patent translation database linking locally and abroad and drafting of contract
• giving advices concerning IP development, protection of IP exploitation, etc

Technology Licensing Office : TLO

      CUIPI coordinates between Chulalongkorn University researchers and external organizations in:

• patenting technology
• assisting in the study and analysis of the maturity of innovations
• finding potential investors
• licensing off and negotiating on royalties and terms of agreement

Research and Training

      CUIPI is engaged in the following research and training activities:

• offering training courses and workshops in basic knowledge of intellectual property and seminars and forums on current related issues.
• conducting researches concerning IP policy so as to expand its capacity in providing advices and suggestions to universities, society and the country.
• disseminating research results and new knowledge in IP among researchers and the general public.

Chulalongkorn University Business Incubator : CUBI

      Chulalongkorn University has set up a business incubator unit to help its faculty and students as well as its graduates in commercializing their research findings. The unit will equip them with entrepreneurial skills, so that they will encounter less risk in running the spin-off companies.
      Under the supervision of CUIPI and working along its guidelines, the Business Incubator utilizes the expertise within the university's comprehensive branches of knowledge, including the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy and the Faculty of Law and out sources whenever necessary. Through networking, outsourcing and partnering, CUBI offers the followings :

• general services
• business assistance
• access to the university's human resources and specialist's advice
